Learn Mandarin Chinese with Monkey Nursery Rhyme

Hi Everyone!

Here is a nursery Rhyme about the days of the Monkey’s week.




After you learned Hanyu pinyin and the numbers from 1 to 10 in Mandarin Chinese, you can practice your Mandarin Chinese with this nursery Rhyme. Just follow the drum beat tempo and pronounce it with me. At the end of this video, you can review all the Monkey nursery Rhyme sentences in two pages.

There are twelve years in the cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar.
There are twelve animal signs, and each animal represents a year in turn every twelve years. In the Chinese lunar calendar, the sequence of the twelve animals is Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

Chinese New Year in 2016 started on February 8th and this lunar year is the Year of Monkey.

Note 2:

For the character zhào, there are some parts that you need to pay attention to:

In China:
Although there are still some people who use zhào to represent the large number “1 0000 0000 0000”, it is NOT the official way to say 1 0000 0000 0000 in Mainland China.
Instead of zhào , people in Mainland China use万亿 wàn yì to say 1 0000 0000 0000 in the official way.

In Taiwan:
People in Taiwan use zhào to represent the large number “1 0000 0000 0000” in the official way.

In BOTH China and Taiwan:
The characterzhào is also used to represent the prefixMegaorMwhich means 106 or 100 0000 in the International System of Units.

In Mainland China and Taiwan people often use zhào to say things like Megabytes (MB), Megahertz (MHz) and Megapixels (MP).
